Visual Development
In order to get from an idea to 3D, sometimes I need to sketch a few thumbnails. Not only did we need sketches for the look of the puzzle but we also needed sketches for the design of how the puzzle should work. Here are a few of the first designs that developed based on my client's feedback.
3D Pre-visualization
Once we get an idea of how the puzzle should look and work we can start mocking up rough 3D models of how the puzzle might work in game. Below are some renders and video of early stages of this process.
Final Art
Now that we know that our puzzle will work in 3D it's time to make final models and textures.
